Is the Next Gretsky Still in the Minors? This is may be some of the questions that are going through the minds of many. Gretsky was an outstanding player in the NHL in the late 70s and early 80s. During this period, he had a total of 300 points winning the Hart Memorial trophies twice, six Art Ross trophies and several Lady Bryng Memorial trophies. He won the Art Ross trophy at the age of 25 years.
He had good mentors like Edmorton Oilers who supported him through his career. A part from getting an opportunity to play with some of the best international players, he also had an opportunity to play in great teams like Los Angeles Kings.
Grestky performance in the NHL was amazing! He scored numerous goals. The question whether the next Gretsky still in the minors is a big no. The way the game is professionally played out today rules this out. Although it will take a long time before Gretsky record is broken, I don’t foresee it been done by a minor. Players like Crosby’s have come close to Gretsky but can never match Gretsky achievement over the time. Any way, only time will tell! Time may prove me wrong.
